My mid-week martini just got better. Sorry vegans, this one is made from cow’s milk. Black Cow vodka is the world’s first pure milk vodka and here’s how I like it.
It’s made entirely from the milk of grass grazed cows and nothing else. Fresh whole milk makes it incredibly smooth and so damn creamy. It’s the invention of Jason Barber that came from a desire to diversify the produce of from his 250 strong dairy herd, mixed with a deep personal interest in vodka.
How the cow?
The milk is separated into curds and whey, the curds are used to make cheese and the whey is fermented into a beer using special yeast that converts the milk sugar to alcohol. The milk beer is then distilled and treated to Black Cow’s secret blending process before being triple filtered and finished before bottled.
This really is the smoothest vodka you’ll ever taste, its creamy and delicious and you’ll want to drink lots of it. Personally I like it straight or as part of a martini. Fabio Immovilli at The Red Bar, Grosvenor House makes a killer cocktail called The Cow That Jumped Over The Moon. If you like Black Cow then you’ll love this one.
